Dodging a Bullet?

Is there a Rudy scandal brewing that will devastate his campaign?
Perhaps.

We can only hope that the United States has avoided a serious run for presidency of a man who took the Orwellian term for torture - enhanced interrogation - one step further in this comment highly indicative of the kind of nut he is:

...If you say, you know, no aggressive questioning, then we're not going to find out about situations. If you say no wiretapping, well, there'll be conversations going on, planning to bomb New York, or Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and you're not going to find out. And, when we draw these lines, at least let's be honest with people about the consequences of them. Let's not fool them into thinking that there is no consequences to this. People will say that aggressive questioning doesn't work. I, you know, I ... Honest answer to that is, it doesn't work all the time. Sometimes it does,"

I just don't think we are giving this torture thing a fair shake.

Now I'm going to try and tone this down a bit because I don't like using hyperbole. Keeping this in mind I say, for the sake of the planet I really hope Rudy's campaign will soon be no more.

Tragic

Real Danger

The last thing in the world I'm doing is advocating a military intervention - nevertheless I can't help but point out that the highly perilous situation now in a country ruled by a dictator,  is among the nuclear powers and has a very significant radicalized segment of the population replete with a violent anti-Westernism is oh, I don't know, maybe ten thousand times more dangerous than Iraq in 2003.
